THE RISE OF THE ROBOT

Automatic Bag Palletizers

Does Robotic Beat Conventional?

We've all heard it. Robotics will change the worldHow? Robots will make processes more efficient, boost productivity and reduce costs. Their ability to work in hazardous environments eliminates dangerous jobs for humans. Because they can lift heavy loads, handle toxic substances and perform repetitive tasks, they help prevent accidents while saving companies time and money.

But, when it comes to automatic bag palletizers, choosing between a conventional palletizer or a robotic one is not so cut and dry. Though they have much in common, their methods for arranging filled bags in layers and on pallets are suited to different production rates and packaging types.

When choosing an automatic bag palletizer, always consider the features and benefits of both types - robotic and conventional - to determine which best suits your application, production rate and budget.

CHANTLAND CONVENTIONAL PALLETIZERS

A belt conveyor or live roller automatically moves filled bags onto pallets for storage and shipment. Conventional palletizers eliminate the repetitious manual stacking of bags, minimizing the risk of employee injury. They also increase production without increasing labor costs.

Chantland MHS offers three fully automated models to handle paper, poly and jute bags up to 110 lbs, each with production rates up to 40 bags per minute.

CHANTLAND ROBOTIC PALLETIZER

A robotic arm lifts bags and places them on pallets. By swiveling between two or more adjacent stations, the robotic palletizer can begin loading another pallet while completed pallets are removed.

Chantland MHS offers three robotic palletizers. Depending on the model chosen, load rates are between 12-18 bags a minute.

Conventional

Robotic

Speed

With consistent palletizing patterns, conventional palletizers win on speed

Robotic palletizers excel at flexible and precise movements.

Versatility

Performs best with consistently sized and shaped packages

Adapts to almost any type of package, including difficult-to-handle ones

Floor Space

Stretch wrapping and the pallet and sheet dispensers are all included in the contained unit

Generally requires more space to allow for movement of the robotic arm

In Feed

Achieves highest speed with upper level infeed

When installed at the lowest level, they require an additional conveyor to move product from an upper level to a floor level

Maintenance

Requires more care due to the number of mechanical operations

Less frequent downtime though maintenance requires special training
