US Tubing
Modular, Fully-Welded, Airtight

If your application requires an even tighter duct option, US Tubing's airtight ducting provides the tightness of a flange and gasket seal with the convenience of a clamp together connection system. The laser welded, airtight duct in a clamp connection style is the best solution when moving oil mist, fine grain, harmful chemicals, or other minute particles, as well as positive pressure systems requiring a leak-free connection.

The components (pipes, branches, elbows, etc.) are standard 20 gauge metal (galvanized, stainless steel, painted) with a range of 22 to 16 gauge available upon request. The pipe comes in standard 59" lengths which can be easily clamp-connected together for long runs. An optional adjustable sleeve pipe allows for field adjustments.
Flanged Ductwork

Flanged duct, also called angle rings or angle flanges, is available in black iron, galvanized, or stainless steel, with or without holes. The flanges attach to duct available in sizes 3" and up. Construction methods range from laser welded pipe and mechanically lock elbows in lighter gauges to fully welded product in heavy gauge (even up to 1/4") — dependent upon the application.
Vanstone Flange
A technique where a flange is used to mate 90-degree lips turned onto the pipe or duct component. The flange is placed onto the pipe, the lip turned back and the flange left loose. When the flanges are pulled together, the VanStoned lips of the pieces that are being connected press together to make a secure metal to metal connection. Because the flanges are loose on all pieces, the center-line of the components is easily aligned. Standard Vanstone pipe lengths are a nominal 59”.

Welded Flange
Flanges are welded to the duct. The faces of the flanges are the mating surface, as opposed to the Vanstone where the duct lips are mating. Standard welded flange pipe lengths are a nominal 60”.
  • Full welded duct flanges have a continuous weld.
  • Intermittently welded duct flanges are welded at intervals around the duct.
